Will this guy be referred to as a thug by conservatives? Probably not ... he's white.

Actually, he's a rapist and predator of children
Lee Holloway, a thug, is NOT a rapist and predator of children.
"Thug" really isn't the right word. Creep, pervert, sicko etc would be more appropriate for this guy.
See, I was right. There is a double-standard.
Though I'll agree to creepy, perverted, sick, etc.
how 'bout perverted thug?
Or Boy Scout leader.
Umm, what was that about painting with a broad brush? A pervet thug desrving of a bullet in the back of the head. IT, amusing as always.
Trying to make a point about the word thug, Bill. Conservative bloggers in the area have been way too easy in its use. And its use has definite racial overtones whether you like it or not.
OS, I didn't know that you were editing dictionaries on the side.
You and Rowen can make up anything you want, of course. But you're a bit late; Orwell detailed creative linguistics quite well, only ~5,000 years after Babel prototyped it.
Still in denial, aren't you daddio. What about use of the word to describe every person who voted for Michael McGee. Wouldn't you agree that there were at least a few who voted for McGee because they didn't know any better? The word "deluded" was probably a better description for them.
And yet, conservative bloggers gleefully attributed thugginess to each and every one of them.
There is a time and place where use of the word is appropriate ... one such time being describing the actions of bigots.
Eggleston's use of the word was bigoted, and thuggish.
Sure.
Whatever.
No snappy comeback? Aww.
