Land Ho!
When asked by Charlie Gibson of ABC News why her being governor of Alaska gave her insight into Russian motives and made her an expert on Russia, Sarah Palin said this:

Actually....on some days you can see Big Diomede Island, which is a real stretch to call it "Russia". Here is the link to the wikipedia post: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diomede_Islands
As for actually BEING where you could look out and see the Diomedes, you would be near a place called Tin City. Tin City is NOT a place where any sane person would want to be, but then, they are Alaskans...Years ago I worked in that country supplying native villages with tugs and barges. Sarah Palin is a danger to us all.
